Fully hand-forged in Japan by Nigara Hamono and finished with the kind of detail that makes this piece feel instantly special.
This blade carries that unmistakable Nigara presence: bold, refined, and built with a level of control that shows from the heel all the way to the tip. The exposed spine immediately sets it apart, revealing the forged construction in a way that feels raw, intentional, and rarely seen on a finished Japanese blade.
The spine itself is beautifully tapered, starting with a confident forged thickness near the heel before gradually thinning out toward the tip. That taper gives the knife a more balanced, responsive feel in hand, while still keeping that solid, high-end presence you expect from Nigara Hamono.
The finish is equally impressive. A blasted Nashiji texture gives the blade a soft, stone-like appearance with a slightly matte character, while the Damascus layering underneath adds depth, movement, and contrast. It’s not overly flashy, but the closer you look, the more the details start to show, subtle waves, forged texture, and that unmistakable handmade character.
Performance-wise, the geometry follows the same philosophy: sturdy and controlled at the spine, then tapering down into a thin, precise edge that moves cleanly through product. It feels substantial without being clumsy, refined without feeling fragile, and visually striking without relying on gimmicks.
This is not just another Damascus knife. It’s a forged Nigara Hamono piece with real character, exposed spine, tapered geometry, blasted Nashiji texture, and a finish that feels both modern and deeply traditional.
