These versions are especially exciting because we managed to get a very limited quantity pre-assembled with stabilized wood and epoxy handles — and at a price that honestly doesn’t come around often.
The blade itself carries Nigara’s signature balance of texture and refinement. The blasted Nashiji finish gives the surface a soft, handcrafted feel, while the Damascus layering underneath adds movement and depth throughout the blade. As the light hits it, the pattern shifts subtly, giving the knife a look that feels alive without being overly flashy.
In hand, the geometry is just as impressive. The spine keeps a solid forged thickness through the blade before tapering smoothly toward the tip. It’s not trying to be an ultra-thin laser — instead, it offers a bit more substance and a natural forward balance that feels confident and controlled on the board.
That extra presence makes the knife feel steady through vegetables, proteins, and larger prep work. The blade carries just enough momentum to help with the cut, while the refined edge geometry keeps it smooth, precise, and enjoyable to use.
