Hand-forged in Japan by the talented Hidari Tohzo, this hybrid Bunka blends the classic Bunka profile with some Santoku influence—giving it a unique shape that’s not just easy on the eyes, but seriously versatile in the kitchen too.
At its core, you’ve got Shirogami White #2 Carbon Steel, wrapped in an iron cladding with a raw Kurouchi finish. It’s tough, holds a wicked sharp edge, and glides through food like nobody’s business.
The spine starts off thick at the bolster and tapers nicely toward the tip, giving you that solid, middle-balanced feel—perfect if you’re into a confident pinch grip. The handle’s made from dark, rough-burnt roasted wood and pressure-fitted to the tang using heat—full of character.
Now, if you’re into that raw, handmade vibe where every little “imperfection” adds to the charm, this knife’s gonna speak your language. It’s got premium steel, killer performance, and a ton of personality—all at a price that won’t break the bank. Factory-made just can’t touch this kind of soul.
