This 180mm Nakiri introduces an entirely new visual concept, designed from the ground up—and executed in a tall-heel version by popular demand to offer extra knuckle clearance and a more confident feel on the board.
Running the full length of the blade is a dual copper inlay forged in an ECG-style wave, pulsing along the edge like a heartbeat. What defines this knife is how that copper is framed above and below by black Damascus steel, creating a striking layered contrast where movement, depth, and rhythm are locked directly into the blade.
The overall look is dark, deliberate, and graphic. Deep black Damascus patterns flow at both the upper and lower sections, while the forged texture along the spine keeps the blade raw and honest. The taller Nakiri profile delivers generous knuckle clearance and a long, flat cutting edge built for clean, confident push cuts and fast, controlled vegetable prep.
At the core sits 52100 carbon steel, selected purely for performance. It sharpens easily, takes an extremely fine edge, and moves through dense vegetables with a smooth, controlled feel. Thin behind the edge, stable on the board, and deeply rewarding to maintain on stones.
This knife is part of a small, limited run by Nguyên, with every piece hand-forged and hand-finished. Variations in tone, Damascus flow, and contrast naturally occur from blade to blade, giving each knife its own character.
