A type of Japanese bunka, and is characterized by its broad, rectangular-shaped blade with a slight curve towards an aggressive tip. The blade is typically sharpened to a very thin edge, allowing for precision cutting and slicing. Often used for chopping vegetables, slicing meats, and even preparing fruits, it's a popular go-to chef knife,
One unique feature of the Hakata knife is its tall heel (wide blade), which allows for the user to use a rocking motion while cutting more than a bunka that would have some resemblance.
